THE PRACTITIONER
I first became interested in Oriental Medicine many years ago, after I had been unwell for a period of time. I then began to practise Qi Gong and Tai Ji Quan (Tai Chi) for several years, which helped greatly in restoring my sense of well-being.
Training
When the opportunity arose I took the chance to study Acupuncture at the London Centre for Traditional Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (LCTA), and after 3 years of full-time study I graduated with a BSc(Hons), validated by the University of Portsmouth.
Postgraduate Study
Since qualifying I have undertaken postgraduate training in Japanese style acupuncture with the internationally renowned practitioner and author Stephen Birch. I have also attended a number of short courses relating to the use of acupuncture for fertility and pregnancy support.
Style
I mostly practise a Japanese style of Acupuncture based upon the theory of the 5 Elements known as Meridian Therapy. It is a gentle, simple and effective way of balancing emotional and physical health.
